CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

AAMI’s growth has necessitated moves to ever larger accommodations. Now, rather than move out of Homewood, we have determined to add the Ahmad Jamal Performance Hall to the rear of its existing building. Performance opportunities for students, faculty and guests have always been a lynchpin at the institute, including student recitals, the Institute’s Boys’ Choir and monthly Jazz on the Loading Dock. We have been limited by small performance space

which accommodates an audience of only 85. The addition of a formal performance hall would allow us to expand the scope of music production, masters classes, and guest speakers. It will allow our students to add performance craft, including lighting and sound design to their repertoire.
